Essentially, it seems that Dostoyevski in writing his final novel couldn’t resist the urge to make sure karamazvi readers know exactly what he thought about morality, God, and Russian culture and society.
If I was at this table, my primary interest would be leaving immediately. I can see why Brca Brothers Karamazov is a classic. It seemed too black and white to me — like a communist, religious manifesto. The story started out painfully slow.
Smerdyakov’s name is bandied about but not to much effect. And I think I made a mistake by relying on the Librivox readers for the first brsca of the novel. So even if at times I thought I couldn’t take the lecturing any more, I did continue.
I have always been aware of the fact that it is one of the greatest novels ever written so I know I have to read it eventually. This is my first impression of Dostoevsky. As most novels tend not to be. It’s a better read. Unlike Ivan, Smerdyakov the bastard had to live like a servant. At this point I was ready to give this one a 1 star rating.

I’m glad I read this, but I can’t say I loved it. It’s really more of a style issue. But I suppose I was spoiled by reading Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina first; for while it’s just as thought-provoking as Dostoyevsky’s novel, it also has a much more engaging and karamaaovi storyline to go with it, making the entire experience that much more pleasurable and easy to go down when all is said and done.

Sounds familiar I just read Maslow. The second problem is that when I finished it just now, the words that unconsciously escaped my mouth were, “Well, fuck you Karamazov. I thought I would love everything by Brcaa I have yet to give up. Half the book was one of the Karamazovs talking on and on, uninterrupted to an audience as silent and passive as the reader.
