What a nice book about the modern politics and decision making processes of India. A quite good read of Indian policy making and it’s history. My quarrel with the political leadership is not about what India could not do but what it could do but did not do.

When he began the Amul story, at the time in India it was impossible to get fresh milk, butter and baby food. And so in this racy book, Shankkar chronicles the misguided policies, the misbegotten results and then the final acceptance of a rational solution after trying every other irrational option.
